What a Summer It Has Been!
What a summer it has been at Poulton Le Fylde Golf Club!
As we look back on summer 2026, it is difficult to know where to begin. From the fantastic condition of our golf course and the continued growth of our junior section to PoultonFest 2026, our annual Charity Golf Day and the incredible Push Force Charity Bed Push, it has been a summer to remember.
Most importantly, Poulton Le Fylde Golf Club has once again shown that we are about far more than golf. Through the events and challenges we have supported this summer, the club has been involved in fundraising efforts totalling more than £160,000 for local charities.
The Golf Course – Exceptional Throughout the Summer
What can we say about the course that our members and visitors don’t already know?
Simon and the greenkeeping team have done a fantastic job throughout the 2026 season. With some extremely hot and dry periods to contend with, maintaining the golf course to such a high standard has been a considerable challenge.
Despite the conditions, we think it is fair to say that Poulton remained one of the greenest golf courses on the Fylde Coast, with our greens in exceptional condition throughout the summer – an even greater achievement considering the club does not have a commercial irrigation system.
The introduction of robotic mowers on our fairways has also made a noticeable difference. As well as helping to maintain consistent fairway presentation, the robots have allowed our greenkeeping team to dedicate additional time to other areas of the course that require some extra TLC during the busy summer months.
The club cannot thank Simon and the entire team enough for their exceptional work.
Junior Golf at Poulton – A Season to Remember
Well, where do we start?
Management cannot thank PGA Coach Curtis Dean enough for his incredible work rejuvenating the junior section at Poulton Le Fylde Golf Club.
There is something particularly special about seeing Curtis come full circle. Having started his own golfing journey as a junior at Poulton, he has returned to become a vital part of rebuilding and developing the next generation of golfers at the club.
Our juniors have been competing across the Fylde Coast throughout the summer, from youngsters experiencing their first taste of competitive golf in the Fylde Junior Sixes League to our more experienced juniors representing Poulton in the Fylde Junior Interclub competitions.
The results have been fantastic.
Our Junior Sixes team currently sits top of the league, while Team Poulton won the overall league in the Junior Interclub competition.
We are incredibly proud of every junior who has represented Poulton this season and excited about what the future holds for junior golf at the club.
PoultonFest 2026
PoultonFest 2026 was another fantastic event organised by the club – although somehow we managed to choose what felt like the only rainy day in July!
We can’t have everything our own way.
Despite the weather, the atmosphere was brilliant. It was wonderful to see families from several generations enjoying themselves together, including our very own Head Golf Professional, Mr John Greenwood, who certainly appeared to be making the most of the occasion!
This year we also joined forces with Home-Start Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre, helping to raise another £1,500, taking our fundraising total together during 2026 to just over £6,000.
And we can officially confirm that PoultonFest will return.
Save the date – Saturday 24th July 2027.
Our Annual Charity Golf Day
If there is one event that showcases everything Poulton Le Fylde Golf Club has to offer, it is our annual Charity Golf Day in support of Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children’s Hospice.
This year was bigger than ever – so big, in fact, that we had to move the first tee forward to the beginning of the 1st fairway, turning the opening hole into a short par 4!
The day had something for everyone, with live music, bouncy castles, children’s rides, four food vendors, games stalls, a putting competition and a huge charity raffle alongside a packed day of golf.
It is an incredible event to be part of and one that brings together golfers, families, local businesses and the wider Fylde Coast community.
Most importantly, the day raised just short of £50,000 for Trinity Hospice and Brian House.
An unbelievable achievement and another reminder of what can be accomplished when the local community comes together.
Push Force – 100 Miles, One Bed and £107,000 Raised!
As if the Charity Golf Day wasn’t enough, members of Poulton Le Fylde Golf Club’s management team also joined Sean Lynden and businesses from across the Fylde Coast for the extraordinary Push Force Charity Bed Push.
The challenge? Walk 100 miles while pushing a hospital bed, with the aim of raising more than £100,000 for Trinity Hospice and Brian House.
Adam and John alternated days pushing the bed, both completing more than 50 miles each as part of an incredible team effort.
The challenge was tough, memorable and an absolute privilege to be part of – and, most importantly, the team smashed its fundraising target.
Push Force raised more than £107,000 for Trinity Hospice and Brian House.
We are told next year’s challenge will be announced shortly. We don’t even know what it is yet, but knowing Sean, we fully expect it to be bigger, harder and probably slightly madder!
Whatever it is, we look forward to being involved again.
Thank You for an Incredible Summer
Finally, we would like to thank our members, staff, volunteers, sponsors, local businesses, visitors and everyone who has supported Poulton Le Fylde Golf Club throughout summer 2026.
From fantastic golf and junior success to family events and extraordinary fundraising achievements, this has been a summer that perfectly represents what our club is about.
With Poulton Le Fylde Golf Club involved in fundraising efforts totalling more than £160,000 this summer, we could not be prouder of everyone involved.
‘Great golf. Great people. Great community’
What a summer 2026 has been – and we’re already looking forward to making 2027 even bigger.
